Notification of Registrar of loss or damage of Cayman Islands Identification Card

An individual to whom a Cayman Islands Identification Card is issued shall, as soon as practicable, notify the Registrar of any of the circumstances set out in subsection (2).
The circumstances referred to in subsection (1) are where the individual has reasonable cause to suspect that the Cayman Islands Identification Card —
is lost;
has been stolen;
has been tampered with;
has been used by another person without permission; or
has been destroyed.
The Registrar, upon being notified of any of the circumstances set out in subsection (2), shall cancel the Cayman Islands Identification Card.
The Registrar shall, upon being notified of the loss, theft, damage, interference or destruction of the Cayman Islands Identification Card, require the holder to make a declaration in the form and manner specified by the Registrar setting out the relevant circumstances.
The Registrar may, upon receipt of payment of the prescribed fee by the individual, replace the Cayman Islands Identification Card if the Registrar considers it appropriate.
