Definitions

In this Act —
"Clerk of the Court" has the meaning ascribed to it in the Grand Court Act (2015 Revision);
"Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Police and any person under that person's authority;
"Coroner" means a person appointed as such under this Act;
"inquest" means an inquiry by a Coroner sitting with a jury;
"jury" means a jury empanelled under section 6;
"medical practitioner" means a person registered as being authorised to practise medicine under the Health Practice Act (2021 Revision);
"Registrar" means the person responsible for the registration of deaths; and
"verdict" means the verdict of a jury.
