Offence to be specific in indictment

Every indictment shall contain, and subject to this Act, shall be sufficient if it contains a statement of the specific offence or offences with which the accused is charged, together with such particulars as may be necessary for giving reasonable information as to the nature of the offence alleged and the acts or omissions alleged to have given rise to the offence, showing as nearly as possible the place and date of the offence and that it lies within the court's jurisdiction.
