Convictions before the commencement of Law 42 of 2016

A person who has been convicted before the 1st February, 2018, the date of the coming into force of the Criminal Records (Spent Convictions) Law, 2016, and has not completed the crime-free period under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Law (1998 Revision) —
may apply; or
if the application was pending, may reapply,
for an expungement of a criminal record under this Law as if the conviction took place when this Law was in force.
