Saving of existing laws

Subject to subsection (2), nothing in this Act shall derogate from the —
Animals Act (2015 Revision);
Electricity Act (2008 Revision);
Electricity Sector Regulation Act (2019 Revision);
Governor (Vesting of Lands) Act (2005 Revision);
Hotels Aid Act (1995 Revision);
Land Acquisition Act (1995 Revision);
National Conservation Act [Law 24 of 2013];
Minerals (Vesting) Act (1998 Revision);
Mining Act (1997 Revision);
Mosquito (Research and Control) Act (2007 Revision);
Petroleum Act (1998 Revision);
Public Health Act (2021 Revision); and
Roads Act (2005 Revision).
Where, but for subsection (1), the exercise of any power under any of the enactments specified under that subsection would contravene any development plan or require planning permission under Part III, then such power shall be exercised in consultation with the Authority and, in the event of any dispute between the Authority empowered to exercise such power and the Authority, the dispute shall be referred to the Cabinet for determination.
