5. (1) The Chair of the Council and the Deputy Chair of the Council shall be appointed by the Cabinet, from among the members of the Council who are not public officers.
The duties of the Chair include —
chairing meetings of the Council;
instructing the Executive Secretary on behalf of the Council;
signing Minutes of meetings of the Council;
apprising the Council of matters raised by stakeholders;
making best efforts to guide the Council in accordance with relevant legislation and policy; and
participating in public relations or education campaigns on behalf of the Council. Disabilities (Solomon Webster) Law, 2016 Section 6 c Law 43 of 2016 Page 9
In the case of the absence or inability of the Chair to act, the Deputy Chair shall perform the duties of the Chair.
