A directive-maker may, in the same directive, appoint one or more persons to be that directive-maker's health care proxy.
The following persons shall not be appointed as a proxy —
a person who is not an adult;
a person who is mentally incompetent;
a registered practitioner who is responsible, solely or with others, for the directive-maker's health care; and
any other person of a type prescribed under Regulations.
A person shall be a proxy only while that person's appointment is in force under this Part.
An appointment of two or more proxies shall be both joint and several.
A proxy's appointment only has force while the directive is operative.
