General interpretation of gender and number

In this Law and in all Laws and other instruments of a public character relating to the Islands now in force or hereafter to be made, unless there is something in the subject or context inconsistent with such construction, or unless it is therein otherwise expressly provided — (a) words importing the masculine gender include females; and (b) words in the singular include the plural, and words in the plural include the singular.
