Establishment of Appeals Tribunal

There is established an Appeals Tribunal, whose quorum shall be three, consisting of a Chairperson and eight other members for the purpose of hearing appeals against decisions of a Labour Tribunal under section 78.
The members of the Appeals Tribunal are appointed by the Cabinet and hold office for one year, but may be re-appointed from time to time for such further one year periods as the Cabinet may consider appropriate.
The Cabinet may appoint two of the eight other members of the Appeals Tribunal to be Deputy Chairperson, either of whom is authorised to perform all the functions of the Chairperson in relation to the hearing of appeals.
The Cabinet may, by regulations, provide for the constitution, procedure, staffing and expenses of the Appeals Tribunal.
