Power to appoint staff, etc.

The Chief Officer shall be responsible for employing, at such remuneration and on such terms and conditions, including retirement medical benefits, as are in accordance with those set out under the Public Service Management Act (2018 Revision), such staff as the Council considers necessary to carry out the functions of the Commission.
The Chief Officer shall be responsible for engaging persons under contract for services, at such remuneration and on such terms and conditions as are in accordance with those set out under the Public Service Management Act (2018 Revision), for professional, technical or other assistance as the Council considers necessary to carry out the functions of the Commission.
The Chief Officer, who shall manage the staff of the Commission, shall have the same powers, duties and functions as relate to chief officers under Part VII of the Public Service Management Act (2018 Revision), including the power to appoint, promote, discipline, transfer, terminate and retire staff; and the Chief Officer shall comply with all relevant procedures under that Act as relate to the exercise of such powers, duties and functions.
