Police Legal Protection Fund

145. (1) There is hereby established a Police Legal Protection Fund, the funds of which shall be applied for the purpose of providing assistance towards the payment of legal fees or associated costs in relation to the defence of a legal action brought against a police officer for any prescribed act committed while the police officer was on duty.
Subject to any regulations, the Police Legal Protection Fund shall be administered by the Police Welfare Committee.
The Police Welfare Committee may accept voluntary contributions to the Police Legal Protection Fund, either from police officers or members of the public.
The Police Legal Protection Fund shall be subject to an annual audit.
