Officers have and may exercise all powers necessary for the enforcement of this Act and all regulations, rules and standing orders and shall, under the supervision where exercised of the Director, do all things necessary and expedient in that behalf.
An officer when on duty and in uniform has, in relation to that duty, the same powers and privileges as are conferred on a constable by the Police Act (2021 Revision).
In addition to and not in derogation from any other power conferred by this or any other law, an officer may without a warrant arrest any person —
not being an officer; or
being an officer of equivalent or of a rank lower than that of the arresting officer,
contravening or suspected on reasonable grounds of having contravened this Act or any regulations, rules or standing orders made hereunder: Provided that the officer shall as soon as practicable deliver over the person so arrested to a constable or, in the absence of a constable, take that person to a police station.
