Meaning of controlling interest

For the purposes of this Act, the core government has a controlling interest in a company if it has power by the exercise of voting rights to carry a resolution at a general meeting of the company; and an entity has a controlling interest in a subsidiary entity if it is able, by virtue of its ownership interest, to control the subsidiary entity.
