Taking of bodily samples by unqualified persons

A person shall not take any bodily sample purportedly for the purpose of giving effect to a parentage testing order or an order under section 16 unless the person is a qualified person.
A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for one year and to a fine of $5,000.
For the purposes of this section, "qualified person" means a registered medical practitioner or any other person belonging to a class of persons prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this section.
