In this Act —
“court” includes arbitrator;
“damage” includes personal injury;
“dependant” includes spouse, child, grandchild, stepchild, parent, grandparent and step-parent;
“fault” means an act creating a liability in tort which, prior to the operation of this Act, would have given rise to the defence of contributory negligence;
and “judgment” means a judgment as confirmed or varied on appeal or in respect of which an appeal is barred by effluxion of time or otherwise.
