Duty of Authority in regard to water supply and wastewater

In addition to the duties listed in section 5, the Authority shall —
provide a piped supply of water for commercial, domestic and municipal use to any part of the Islands where a general scheme of supply is rational as determined by the Authority and forms part of capital investment plans approved by the Office;
provide adequate facilities for the drainage and safe disposal of wastewater and effluent where a general wastewater scheme is rational as determined by the Authority and forms part of capital investment plans approved by the Office;
advise the Cabinet on the issuance of concessions for franchised operations under the Water (Production and Supply) Act (2018 Revision) and in accordance with any law for the time being in force relating to wastewater.
Repealed by section 4(b) of the Water Authority (Amendment) Law, 2017.
