This section applies to an authorisation under section 40(2).
An authorisation may be given only under the hand of the Governor and ceases to have effect at the end of a period of six months starting with the day on which it was given.
Subsection (2) does not apply if the authorisation is renewed under subsection (4) before the day on which it would otherwise cease to have effect.
The Governor may renew an authorisation for a period of six months starting on the day on which it would otherwise cease to have effect, if at any time before that day the Governor considers it necessary for the authorisation to continue to have effect for the purpose for which it was given.
Subsection (3) may apply more than once.
A renewal under subsection (4) shall be made under the hand of the Governor.
The Governor shall cancel an authorisation if the Governor is satisfied that an act or omission authorised by virtue of it is no longer necessary.
