Duties of Director

In addition to the duties conferred upon the Director by or under any other law, the Director is responsible for —
the management, supervision and control of Customs and Border Control;
the administration and implementation of this Act;
the collection of Customs and Border Control revenue and accounting for the same; and
the care of public and other property under the control of Customs and Border Control, but without having to account for loss thereof unless such loss is due to the Director's personal default.
The powers and duties conferred upon the Director to determine an application under sections 111(1) and (4B) may be delegated by the Director at any time to an officer of the rank of Assistant Director or above.
