Import permits

The Management Authority may grant an import permit only if it is satisfied that the following conditions are met —
that the Scientific Authority considers that the import will be for purposes which are not detrimental to the survival of any species listed in Parts 1 or 2 of the Schedule in any part of its range and that there are no other material conservation objections to the import of the specimen;
in the case of a specimen of a species listed in Column I of Part 1 of the Schedule, that the specimen will not be used for primarily commercial purposes;
in the case of a live specimen, that the proposed recipient is equipped to house and care for it suitably; and
that the specimen has not been obtained in contravention of any law, including any international treaty or convention or foreign law.
