Duration of licence or permit

Subject to section 28, every licence shall expire on the first day of January three years after the day on which it is granted, so however, that any licence granted in the month of December in any year shall be dated the first day of January of the following year and shall come into force on that day and continue in force until the first day of January three years after it is granted.
Subject to section 28, every permit, except a Firearm User’s (Special) Permit, shall continue in force until the act authorised to be done by such permit has been done or the expiration of the period specified in such permit, whichever shall first happen.
Subject to section 28, every Firearm User’s (Special) Permit shall continue in force until the revocation or expiration of the Proclamation applying the provisions of section 17 to the area, district, town or village to which such permit relates.
