Applications for licences

Every person desiring to obtain a new licence, other than a temporary licence or to vary an existing licence, shall, at least twenty-one days before a licensing session is due to be held, make application in writing in Form 1 to the Chairperson of the appropriate Board specifying —
the category of licence desired;
full details of the premises in respect of which the application is made indicating a plan;
the name and age of the applicant;
the proposed specified hours; and
such other relevant information as the applicant desires to impart to the Board.
Applicants under subsection (1) shall attend before the Board at the time of the opening of the sessions and such other times as the Board may require and may, in addition, be represented by a person qualified to practise law in the Islands.
Every applicant shall, twenty-one days before making an application, affix a copy of the proposed application to some conspicuous place upon the premises named therein and send copies thereof to —
the Chief Medical Officer;
the Commissioner;
the Chief Fire Officer; and
the Executive Secretary of the Central Planning Authority,
each of whom shall, within fourteen days of the receipt thereof, forward to the applicant a certificate in duplicate under his hand stating —
(i) whether the premises appear to be suitable and unobjectionable for the purposes proposed; or
(ii) what alterations, if any, to the premises would render such premises suitable, and what conditions, if any, attached to the licence, if granted, would render the grant of the proposed licence unobjectionable,
and the applicant shall forward such certificates to the Chairperson together with the application.
An application for a licence may be made by way of such medium as may be provided by the Department of Commerce and Investment for the purpose of the electronic processing of applications under this Law.
The Cabinet may make regulations to provide for the electronic processing of applications by the Board.
