Benefit paid to designated beneficiary or estate if no surviving spouse or children

If a participant dies with no spouse and no children surviving him, the amount payable under sections 35 and 37 shall be paid in a single lump sum to the participant's designated beneficiary, or if his designated beneficiary has predeceased him, the amount shall be paid in a single lump sum to his estate.
