Offences and penalties

A person who, without reasonable excuse —
fails, after a request in writing, to —
produce any information that is in that person's possession or under that person's control;
allow access to premises; or
provide answers or explanations, when required to do so by regulations made under this Act; or
makes any statement or gives any information required by, or by regulations made under, this Act, knowing it to be false or misleading, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of ten thousand dollars and to imprisonment for six months, or on conviction on indictment to a fine of one hundred thousand dollars and to imprisonment for five years, and if the offence of which that person is convicted is continued after conviction that person commits a further offence and is liable to a fine of ten thousand dollars for every day on which the offence is so continued.
