Performance agreement responsibilities of Head of the Civil Service

The Head of the Civil Service shall —
enter into a performance agreement with each chief officer of a ministry or portfolio for each financial year in accordance with section 30; and
ensure that the agreement is sufficiently detailed and sufficiently clear that it will provide a good basis to assess the chief officer's performance at the end of the year.
Before signing a chief officer's performance agreement the Head of the Civil Service shall satisfy himself that the performance agreement is fair and achievable.
