Obligation to report offer of articles on list

A secondhand dealer who is offered or shown any article appearing to match the information, description or appearance of an article on a police list shall, without delay, give information on this occurrence to the nearest police station or to a police officer, with the name and address or the location of the person who offered or showed the article.
A secondhand dealer who fails to comply with any of the requirements of subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of ten thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of two years, or to both.
