Offences relating to declarations

16. (1) A person in public life who —
fails, without reasonable cause, to furnish to the Commission a declaration, or further particulars which that person is required to furnish in accordance with the provisions of this Act;
knowingly makes a declaration that is false;
fails, without reasonable cause, to give such information or explanation as the Commission or a tribunal established under a Law or regulations may require; or
fails, without reasonable cause to attend an enquiry being conducted or knowingly gives false information in such enquiry, having been required to attend or give evidence pursuant to an order given under the relevant Law or regulations establishing the tribunal, commits an offence, and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of ten thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of two years, or to both. No prosecution of an offence under this Act may be instituted without the written consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
