Grant of permits

Applications for the obtaining or renewal of a permit under section 34 or 35 shall be made and disposed of in a manner prescribed by regulations: Provided that —
any person wishing to object to the grant or renewal of a permit shall be given an opportunity to do so; and
a permit shall be subject to restrictions as to its duration as may be specified in regulations.
A permit may be modified, suspended or revoked by the Authority —
for any material false statement in the permit application;
for breach of any condition of the permit;
for refusal to allow inspection of works as provided by subparagraph (v) of paragraph (f) of section 7(1);
to protect ground water;
to protect public health, public safety or public welfare; or
to protect any commercial, domestic or municipal uses of water.
