Duty to receive disclosures and carry out investigations into disclosures

The designated authority shall receive a disclosure and take appropriate steps in accordance with this Part and Schedule 2 to investigate or cause the disclosure to be investigated.
Subject to the provisions of this Law, the designated authority shall —
receive and record the matter being disclosed; and
take steps, where the designated authority considers that an investigation should be proceeded with and that the circumstances specified in section 31(2) do not apply, to cause the conduct disclosed to be investigated in accordance with Schedule 2.
