Magistrate to inform accused person of right of appeal

When any person is convicted by a Summary Court, the magistrate shall inform that person, at the time when the sentence is passed, of that person's right of appeal and the steps which must be taken by a party wishing to appeal and a note shall be made at the time by the magistrate that such information has been given by that magistrate to such person and such note shall be conclusive as to this section having been complied with.
Upon being so informed, the convicted person may then and there give oral notice of that person's intention to appeal, and such notice shall be recorded by the magistrate and by the prosecutor.
