The Commissioner is the designated authority in the Islands for the purposes of international cooperation related to data protection.
The Commissioner shall also carry out any data protection functions (that is, functions relating to the protection of individuals with respect to the processing of personal information) that may be prescribed by regulations for the purpose of enabling the Islands to give effect to any of its international obligations.
