Unlawfully acting as Administrative Point of Contact or Technical Point of Contact

A person who, without the written consent of the Office —
acts or purports to act as, or holds themselves out as being authorised by the Office to act as, the Administrative Point of Contact for the top level of the global Internet Domain Name System assigned to the Islands; or
acts or purports to act as, or holds themselves out as being authorised by the Office to act as, the Technical Point of Contact for the top level of the global Internet Domain Name System assigned to the Islands,
commits an offence and is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of ten thousand dollars or on conviction on indictment to a fine and to imprisonment for one year.
A person who, without the written consent of the Office —
deals with or assumes any rights in relation to the top level of the global Internet Domain Name System assigned to the Islands; or
makes or attempts to make any request to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority to delegate or re-delegate responsibility for the top level of the global Internet Domain Name System assigned to the Islands,
commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of ten thousand dollars or on conviction on indictment to a fine and to imprisonment for one year.
The Office may bring civil proceedings against any person who contravenes this Act, and the Court may, in such proceedings, make such order as it considers appropriate including orders requiring compliance with this Act and the regulations.
A person who does anything outside the Islands and the action, if it had occurred within the Islands would have constituted the commission of an offence under this section, commits an offence and is liable to any of the penalties specified under this section.
