If, in the opinion of a Medical Officer of Health, any person is suffering or reasonably suspected of suffering from any notifiable disease, the Officer may direct —
that the person shall be kept in isolation in that person's home; or
that the person shall be removed to a hospital or other place.
Any person who is a carrier or has been in contact with any person suffering or reasonably suspected of suffering from a notifiable disease may be isolated or placed under surveillance or removed to a hospital for observation and there kept for such necessary period as a Medical Officer of Health shall direct.
