60. For the purpose of ensuring the safety of persons employed or performing any duty therein, the operator of every workplace shall ensure that —
adequate measures are taken for the prevention of fire therein;
adequate means of escape are provided for persons employed therein;
machinery used therein is operated and maintained in such a manner as to be safe for all employees; and
any and all buildings comprised in the workplace and all parts thereof are of sound construction and properly maintained. Section 61 Labour Act (2021 Revision) Page 36 Revised as at 31st December, 2020 c
