Foreign marriages or civil partnerships

The Court will recognise a marriage, or civil partnership, celebrated outside the Islands upon being satisfied that the marriage, or civil partnership, was in fact celebrated in accordance with the law of the place of such celebration —
Provided that it is not proved to the Court, in accordance with section 8, that such marriage, or civil partnership is void.
