Power to order attendance of witness

The Parliament or any standing committee may, subject to sections 9 and 12, order any person to attend before such Parliament or committee and give evidence or produce any paper, book, record or document in that person's possession or control.
The powers conferred by subsection (1) on a standing committee may be exercised by any other committee which is specially authorised by a resolution of the Parliament by which such committee is appointed to exercise such powers in respect of any matter or question specified in the resolution.
