Tampering with the register

A person shall not attempt to or intentionally —
introduce or cause to be introduced, any virus, malware or other computer contaminant in the register or any system that supports the register;
cause damage to the register or information in the register;
disrupt the proper functioning of the register;
cause an unauthorized modification of information to be made to an entry in the register;
prevent or delay the access or retrieval of relevant information from a computer used for the purposes of this Act; or
otherwise alter, destroy, mutilate, deface, hide or remove information in the register.
A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction on indictment to a fine of twenty thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of four years, or to both.
