Foreperson of the jury

When the jurors have been duly sworn they shall appoint one of their number to be foreperson who shall preside at the meetings of the jury for the consideration of their verdict and may ask any information from the court which may be required by any of the jurors; and if the majority of the jury do not, within such time as the court may consider reasonable, appoint a foreperson, then the foreperson shall be appointed by the court.
