Imprisonment in default of payment of fine

Notwithstanding any other law, a person upon whom a fine is imposed under this Act may be sentenced in default of payment thereof to imprisonment, in the case of a fine —
not exceeding one thousand dollars, for a period not exceeding three months;
exceeding one thousand dollars but not exceeding two thousand dollars, for a period not exceeding six months; and
exceeding two thousand dollars, for a period not exceeding twelve months.
