The Cabinet may, after consultation with the Steering Group, give to the Financial Reporting Authority directions of a general character as to the policy to be followed in the exercise and performance of its function s in relation to matters appearing to the Cabinet to concern the public interest, and the Financial Reporting Authority shall give effect to any such directions.
