Certificate or licence void after three months

Whenever a marriage does not take place within three months of the date of the Civil Registrar’s certificate, the Marriage Officer’s certificate or a Governor’s licence or special licence, the certificate or licence, as the case may be, shall be void, and no person shall proceed to solemnise the marriage until new notice has been given and certificate issued or a new licence has been granted.
