Endorsement of change of ownership

26. (1) Whenever a change occurs in the registered ownership of a ship, the Registrar of Shipping shall endorse the change on the certificate of registry or issue a new certificate of registry.
The master shall, for the purpose of an endorsement by the Registrar of Shipping in accordance with subsection (1), deliver the certificate of registry to the Registrar as soon as is practicable after the change.
If the master fails to deliver, to the Registrar of Shipping, the certificate of registry as required by this section the master commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of three thousand dollars. Demise Charter Registration
